Nicole's Philosophy

I see a world where all birthing people are having conscious births, wherein they are knowledgeable about and loving of their bodies, inspired to trust their intuitive wisdom, and able to recognize their own power to choose and participate actively in the unfolding of their birth experience.

I see a world where birthing people have access to practices and a community of other mother figures that support them in their desire to preserve the best of themselves and to create new self-care and wellness strategies that work in this evolving world.

My approach is effective because it cares for a birthing person's well-being on multiple levels:

  1. Practical, embodied knowledge. Having a baby is a very physical experience. Using yoga and meditation practices specifically designed for the pregnant and recovering postpartum body at each stage, relaxation and labor coping techniques and more, I will help you navigate gracefully through the physical and emotional changes happening in your body.

  2. Spiritual Empowerment. When I became pregnant for the first time, my perspective on so many things changed. I searched for answers in a wide range of places, only to discover, with the guidance of spiritual teachers further down the path, a deep reservoir of knowledge, safety and trust within. I will draw from the variety of teachings given to me from my teachers to offer you an opportunity to move deeper into your own shifts in perspective--a deeper sense of acceptance, surrender, trust in your intuition, so that you may experience your pregnancy and motherhood with the greatest amount of ease possible.

  3. Support and Community. We are not meant to mother/parent alone. It's a huge commitment and journey, and you're not made to (and don't have to) do it without support. Sometimes this support is about receiving, other times giving to another mother figure in need brings the healing we need for ourselves. My intention is that each interaction you have with Devoted Mamas--both with me and the community at large--is helpful, nurturing and reminds you that you are in good company at all times.

"I know that without Nicole's knowledge and willingness to share her insights and experiences, I would not have been able to have the successful labor I had."
